A BIN fire is believed to have been set alight deliberately in the grounds of a community centre this afternoon, the fire service has said.
A fire engine was sent to Wrexham Close in Hollinwood at around 3.20pm after being told by police that a bin was ablaze at a community centre.
A crew from Hollins Fire Station used water to put out the fire.
No-one was hurt in the incident, and apart from the bin, no other items or properties were damaged.
It is thought that the fire was started deliberately.
A Hollins Fire Station spokesman added: "It was a small fire involving a green bin in the grounds of a community centre.
"We were only there for around five to 10 minutes."
If you have any information about the fire contact police on 101.
