A STUDENT at The Hathershaw College in Oldham has excelled in her GCSEs despite being in and of hospital over the last academic year.
Hafsa Shahnaz, a senior ambassador at the school, has overcome numerous stays in hospital to fulfil her dream of getting into sixth form college.
She said: “I’ve been in and out of hospital for the last year, so I have found it very hard to keep up with everything we have been doing. But I’ve done well I think considering, it’s been challenging.
She added that support from her mum Shahnaz, who is her “biggest supporter”, has kept her motivated.
Shahnaz has always encouraged her daughter to “keep going” and put her education first.
Hafsa is “excited” and “a bit nervous” to start at Clarendon Sixth Form College in Ashton and plans to go into marketing.
Hafsa already does social media marketing for various companies and has amassed a significant following across multiple platforms, including Instagram where she has garnered more than 9,000 followers.
