AN investigation into the alleged racist abuse of an Oldham Athletic Football Club director has been closed due to "insufficient evidence" being found.
Latics played Ashton United two months ago on Saturday, July 10 at the Hurst Cross Stadium in Ashton and a report of racism was made.
A police probe was launched but it has now been closed.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Following an incident that occurred on Saturday, July 10, police launched an investigation into a report of racism towards a member of staff at Oldham Athletic.
"Enquiries were made, however, there was insufficient evidence to corroborate the report.
"The case is no longer ongoing."
