A TEENAGER from Royton has been banned from football matches for three years after a pitch invasion on an Oldham Athletic away day.
Josh Mellor, 18, of Queen Street, invaded the pitch during a League Two clash against Sutton United on August 28 – a match which ended in Latics' first league win of the season.
Summoned to Croydon Magistrates' Court in South London on September 14, Mellor pleaded guilty to the offence.
He was given a three-year football banning order – the minimum term for such an order – and a fine totalling £270.
