THE RSPCA in Oldham is on the lookout for a loving home for one of its longest staying cats.

Lulu, a “sweet girl” who loves a stroke and a head rub, was found as an injured stray, and brought to the animal centre in Oldham where she remains after no one claimed her.

Vets have estimated that Lulu, who is neutered, is between three and five years old.

Staff at the centre have described Lulu as a “confident girl with a few little quirks”.

The black cat, took a dislike to the other residents at the cattery a couple of weeks after her arrival and is now in a pen with fewer cat neighbours.

Staff have decided that Lulu would be best suited to a household with cat experience, where she is the only pet, and any children are over the age of thirteen.

Lulu is an “affectionate girl” who enjoys having a fuss in short doses, according to the team at the animal centre.

Jessica Tabern, who works at the centre, said: “When Lulu feels like she’s had enough attention she will wonder off to do her own thing which often involves blowing off some steam with her toys.

“Feather chaser toys are a favourite of Lulu’s, and she often sits staring at them until you play with her.”

The team at RSPCA Oldham are also still looking for a forever home for their “longest staying cat”, Reuben, a shorthaired black and white crossbreed, who became available for adoption six months ago.

Lisa Walsh, the deputy animal centre manager at RSPCA Oldham, said: “As the longest stay cat in our cattery, Reuben is desperately searching for a home to call his own.”

The team at the RSPCA are looking for a “quiet home” for Reuben, where any children are over 13 years old, and he can take his time gaining trust in people.

As Reuben suffers with cat flu, which may flare up again, he will need to be the only pet in the home.

Reuben’s ears also need to be cleaned and checked by a vet regularly.
