THE Christie will be returning to Manchester Cathedral this December to hold a festive night of Christmas music and hear from one of the thousands of patients who have benefitted from the centre's work.
This year’s concert will be held on Monday, December 6 from 7pm to 9.15pm.
It marks a return to the cathedral after last year’s festive concert was held online because of coronavirus.
Radio presenter Wes Butters will be back as the compere for the concert and there will be music and carols from Manchester singer, Jo Farrow and Beaver Road Primary School.
The evening will provide many opportunities for the audience to join in.
All funds raised will go to The Christie charity to benefit patients at Manchester’s much loved cancer centre.
During the concert, guests will hear from Judith Godfrey, a 77-year-old non-smoker from Didsbury with lung cancer.

She previously ran the Manchester Language School with her husband Bill.
She was diagnosed in May 2019 and is on her second clinical trial at The Christie where she has been matched to a targeted drug treatment.
Judith said: “I am honoured to have been invited to share my story with guests at The Christie’s annual Christmas concert.
"I feel very lucky to have been under the care of The Christie for over two and a half years. Thanks to the pioneering work that the Christie charity funds, I’ve been able to participate in two clinical trials, testing the latest cancer therapies.
"Without these trials, I may not have been in a position to share my story with so many people this Christmas.”

"We really missed the event last year and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back.
"The evening promises to be a magical occasion for all the family whilst raising vital funds for The Christie.

Festive food and drinks will also be available for guests to enjoy and a raffle will be held on the night with a selection of fabulous prizes on offer.

The Christie charity supports the work of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust providing enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds.
This includes money for care and treatment, research, education and extra patient services.
