This year sees the return of pantomimes to our theatres and there are plenty of options in Oldham and the Greater Manchester area.

From star-studded line ups to local productions, there is a wide range of options, with Aladdin seeming to be the most popular choice of panto this year.

We've put together a list of some of the shows taking place over the festive period in the area:

Aladdin - Oldham Coliseum Theatre, November 13 - January 8: The Oldham Coliseum will host Aladdin for its Christmas panto. The show is for people of all ages and is great family fun, with songs, silliness and festive magic. Tickets prices range from £13.50 to £17.50.

Sleeping Beauty - Queen Elizabeth Hall, November 11 - January 2: This show will include some familiar faces, with Kerry Katona formerly of Atomic Kitten starring alongside former Coronation Street actor Bruce Jones and former Hollyoaks actor Nathan Morris. The panto was due to take place at Grange Theatre, however an inspection revealed there were major problems with the electrics and wiring, forcing the panto to be moved.

Dick Whittington - Millgate Arts Centre, December 11 - December 31: Coming to Delph, this panto will be performed by North West-based company The Big Tiny. Children under 16 go for £12 while adults go for £17.

Aladdin - Opera House, Quay Street, December 11 - January 2: Another portrayal of Aladdin will take place in Manchester, starring former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, so there is guaranteed to be some good singing. Tickets cost £13 along with a £3.65 transaction fee.

Peter Pan - Octagon Theatre, Howell Croft South, Bolton, November 26 - January 9: Music, mischief and magic are promised at this show, with tickets ranging from £15 to £27.

Aladdin - Bolton Little Theatre, Hanover Street, December 10 - December 19: Aladdin is a very popular choice of panto this year, with another taking place in Bolton. Tickets cost £10.
