TO CELEBRATE Small Business Saturday readers have revealed their favourite small businesses in Oldham.
In a social media callout on Saturday The Oldham Times asked readers to give a shout out to their favourite independent business in the borough.
David Sansome said Meat in the Middle, a local butchers in the heart of Oldham Market, is “friendly” with a “great service”.
Rachel Freeman called, Mollie Smyth Flowers & Gifts in Royton, “the best florist” she has ever used, adding that the florist’s staff are “helpful” and “friendly” with “amazing talent”.
Avers Ck and Diane Hannon both chose Dog-e-Dayz Daycare in Failsworth as their favourite small Oldham business.
Avers Ck described the centre as “utterly brilliant daycare for your dog” adding: “my lad has been going there 9 years.”
Joanna Mclaughlin meanwhile named Suntal Canine on Ripponden Road the “best groomers in Oldham” adding: "My shih tzu loves the groomers.”
However, Patrick Maher said he had “never seen a dog groomers as beautiful” as Short, Bark and Sides in Royton.
He added: “My dog smells absolutely unbelievable when she comes back and she never wants to leave.Fabulous business and fantastic staff.”
Dee Johnson gave a shout out to Jackson’s Shoe Repairs in Tommyfield Market Hall and Jeremy M.T. Sutcliffe listed his favourite small business as Oskar’s also in Market Hall.
Rachel Cope called Copes Cakes based in Oldham “the best” and gave a shout out to Tan Co, a tanning and beauty salon in Chadderton.
Dale Tunnacliffe said The Interclubbers bar in Oldham has “friendly staff, great atmosphere, great prices and all-round great services”.
Caz Maguire said Alimentari Di Alberti Greengrocers in Uppermill provide “the best fresh fruit and vegetables in Saddleworth,” while Caron Bartley called M&M Tunaley Greengrocer in Failsworth “the best by far”.
Sue Brierley listed her favourite business as Bonbons Bakes in Oldham and Ashley Thorne picked the gift shop Authentic in Uppermill, calling it her “favourite place to be”.
Unable to choose, Jaynie Gregs picked Renaissance Health and Beauty Clinic in Oldham and Donnelly's Licensed Coffee Shop in Shaw.
Zara Mills and Gareth Harrison both chose Clean Plate Kitchen Oldham and Carole Whyatt selected the shop A Shaw Thing in Shaw.
Lee Newsome said the chippy Cod In a Trap have “the best fish and chips in Oldham” and Shux Das picked Twinnies restaurant in Oldham town centre as his favourite.
Finally, Rachael Ellis chose Daniel Paul Hairdressing for its “realistic prices with high-end hairdressing.”
