A vacant GP surgery is set to be reopened after the other practice based in the facility will take on the space.
Failsworth Group Practice had its contract to provide GP services terminated by Oldham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) in January.
The surgery was rated "inadequate" after a damning inspection and was told it could no longer carry out GP services in the future.
The surgery was based at Failsworth District Centre on Ashton Road West and the space will now be occupied by the other surgery in the building, Quayside Medical Practice.
The practice is run by GP partners Dr Mark Wilshere and Dr Marc Crutchley, who have spent the past few months managing their own practice and preparing to take over the new space.
Following the termination of Failsworth Group Practice's contract, Dr Wilshere explained that more than 12,000 patients were assigned to his practice.
Dr Wilshere said: "We have now secured the premises of Failsworth Group Practice and will shortly be moving most of our team across the corridor but we will also be keeping our existing practice as our patient list size has more than doubled."
He added it was "quite an achievement to pull this off" considering the lack of doctors, nurses and other qualified staff facing the NHS.
The surgery is planning to hold an official opening on June 10.
Failsworth Group Practice was placed into "special measures" following an inspection in December by the Care Quality Commission.
The regulator scored the surgery as "inadequate" in four out of the five areas, which were safety, effectiveness, responsiveness and leadership.
The other category, caring, was rated as "requires improvement".
The inspector also found there were four regulation breaches following the announced inspection.
Oldham CCG's accountable officer, Mike Barker, previously said: "While it is disappointing that we have had to take action to terminate this contract, our primary concern has to be to protect and safeguard our patients’ safety."
Cllr Pete Davis said at the time of the surgery's closure that he was "pleased" that action had been taken by the CCG to close the practice.
