An Oldham woman has been spared jail after assaulting two police officers, homophobically abusing one of them.
Janay Connor, of Wildmoor Avenue, Oldham, committed the offences when two police officers attended an address in Shaw on New Year's Day this year after reports of a disturbance.
She assaulted both officers as they were trying to carry out their jobs.
The 21-year-old was also sentenced for using abusive language towards one of the officers, which was motivated by hostility towards the person's sexual orientation.
Connor pleaded guilty on April 14 and was sentenced on May 11.
She was given a 16-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, due to the severity of the offences, which included an uplift for the homophobic abuse.
The court also found that the assaults of the two officers were aggravated by the fact they were committed against emergency workers carrying out their duties.
Connor was also ordered to pay £150 in compensation, which must be paid by June 8.
