A drink driver from Oldham has been sentenced after driving at almost twice the legal limit.

Jack Crinion, of Lime Green Road, Limehurst, was driving a BMW 118D on Ashton Road back on April 18.

A police officer called for Crinion to stop, however, he refused to.

He was eventually found to have 67 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, with the legal limit being 35 micrograms.

At Tameside Magistrates' Court on June 16, the 26-year-old pleaded guilty to failing to stop when required by a constable and driving above the alcohol limit.

He has been disqualified from having a driver's licence for 12 months, although this can be reduced by three months if he completes a course by January 16, 2023.

He was also fined a total of £533, was made to pay a victim surcharge of £53 and was ordered to pay £85 in court costs, bringing his total costs to £671.
