A video has shown a thief stealing LED garden lights from the front garden of a house in Hathershaw.
CCTV footage shared by Nazia Ali shows a man stopping in front of the address at 1.53am on Monday, June 20 as he looks at the property for 15 seconds.
The man walks off, before returning shortly after.
He picks up three LED colourful garden lights from the area where there are plants before running off. Each of the lights was worth about £15.
Nazia said that she has "never had anything like this happen before" and that she was left surprised and upset by the incident.
She explained: "I was upset because I've just set up my garden."
She added that she had been planning to have a fountain installed but has now been put off the idea after this incident.
Nazia suspects that the burglar will try and sell the lights and admitted it was a unique item to have stolen.
She has not contacted the police.
