Vehicle thefts continue to be a major issue facing the borough, with stolen items ranging from cars to vans and even heavy duty machinery.

The Oldham Times has done a round up of some of the stolen vehicles which have recently been recovered by officers in Oldham.

On Saturday, June 25, an outstanding stolen van was recovered by police on Bentley Street in Chadderton.

The white Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van was found to be on false plates.

When officers opened the vehicle, they found a heavy duty roller plant, which had also been stolen.

Both items were recovered and both the van and machinery will undergo full forensic examinations to try and find any evidence to connect the stolen machines to the offenders.
