An Oldham man has been jailed after he racially abused a security guard at a shop.
William Holohan, of Crow Hill View, was asked to leave a shop in Salford on October 28, 2021 after causing a disturbance.
He then became aggressive, threatening a security guard and racially abusing him.
On June 10 at Manchester Magistrates' Court, Holohan pleaded guilty to racially aggravated provocation of violence by words.
He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, however, his sentence was uplifted by 50 per cent to reflect the racial element of the offence, leading to a 12-week prison sentence.
The 33-year-old was imprisoned due to the offence being so serious and being aggravated by his previous record.
He was also ordered to pay £100 in compensation.
