A new clinic has opened in Chadderton after the sudden closure of Total Physiotherapy this month.

Pure Physiotherapy has taken over the former clinic on Broadway with residents being urged to consider the private clinic to avoid NHS waiting lists.

Managing director of Pure Physiotherapy, Phin Robinson, has said most patients who use the clinic will be seen in the same week and avoid the delays beleaguering the NHS.

He said: “As we work with most of the GP practices in the Oldham area, we’re very aware of the strains on the NHS at the moment and the delay some people are facing when trying to get diagnosed and treated.

"Our private clinics bypass all of these delays and, in most cases, you can be seen the same week.”

Large NHS waiting times appear to be increasing the number of people paying for private care.

Recent analysis by the BBC of data from the Private Healthcare Information Network has found there were 69,000 self-funded treatments in the UK in the final three months of last year - a 39 per cent rise on the same period before the pandemic.

As a company Pure Physiotherapy has more than 20 clinics nationwide and employs more than 180 qualified physiotherapists.

The clinic is equipped with private treatment rooms, including accessible downstairs facilities with wheelchair access, and currently accepting bookings.

Physios at the clinic can help to treat a variety of issues including bad backs and sore necks to arthritis, sciatica, joint pains, and tendon issues.

Mr Robinson added: “Pure Physiotherapy has been providing award-winning, expert care for patients with back, neck, knee, shoulder, and a wide range of musculoskeletal issues for over 16 years.

“Our growth over the past 12 months has been amazing and we’re excited to be opening clinics in new areas of the country and adding more capacity in the areas where we are seeing the biggest demand.”

The Oldham clinic is now open and available to book online www.purephysiotherapy.co.uk or by calling 0161 441 4458.
