A huge emergency services presence has taken over an Oldham mill where human remains have been discovered.
A major incident was declared by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) today (July 25) after remains were uncovered by demolition workers at Bismark House Mill, Bower Street Oldham on Saturday (July 23).
The mill virtually burnt to the ground on May 7, when the building was gutted by a fire that took Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service four days to extinguish.
At this time, it was not believed that anyone was inside the mill.
GMP subsequently received a report on Thursday (July 21) that four Vietnamese nationals were missing and may have been involved in a fire.
Today emergency services were pictured throughout the site conducting enquiries, with representatives from GMP and the GMFRS issuing statements to the public.
It is understood that the site will be shut down from today.
