A woman who racially abused a security guard and bit another at Royal Oldham Hospital has been sentenced.

Kim Broadbent, of Leamington Street in Waterhead, was at the hospital in December 2021 when she racially abused a security guard.

The 32-year-old, who was under the influence of alcohol at the time, then bit another security guard who was trying to intervene.

On June 20, Broadbent pleaded guilty to racially aggravated harassment and assaulting an emergency worker.

At Tameside Magistrates' Court on July 14, she was sentenced for her actions.

She received a four-week prison sentence, which was suspended for 12 months due to her lack of previous convictions.

Broadbent was also given a 12-month community order, which includes an alcohol monitoring requirement to abstain from alcohol for 90 days and 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

Finally, she must pay £100 in compensation to each of the security guards along with a £128 victim surcharge and court costs of £85.
