A teenager from Oldham stole six mobile phones in the space of a month, a court has heard.

Steuca Anghel, 18, of Oldham Road, has been sentenced at Manchester Magistrates' Court.

Between October and November last year, Anghel stole one Samsung Galaxy worth £100 and Apple iPhones worth several hundred pounds more, all of them in Manchester.

After his arrest, the teenager admitted six counts of theft earlier this year.

At Manchester Magistrates' Court, Anghel was sentenced to 150 hours of unpaid work to be completed within the next 12 months.

He was also ordered to pay £100 in compensation to each one of his victims, a total of £600.
