A huge cannabis farm has been discovered by police during a raid in Oldham.

The Central Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a warrant at a property in Hathershaw earlier today (August 5) as part of Operation Vortex.

One person has been arrested and is currently in police custody.

A video has been posted on social media by GMP Oldham which reveals the inside of the cannabis farm. The footage shows rooms within a property crammed with cannabis plants.

A message posted alongside the video by GMP Oldham reads: “The Central Neighbourhood Policing Team have executed a section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at an address in Hathershaw earlier today.

“A cannabis farm was found, and one person has been arrested and is currently in police custody.”

Officers from the Waterhead, St James', Saddleworth and Lees neighbourhood teams launched a day of action in the early hours of this morning.

The crackdown has also seen neighbourhood officers carry out a warrant in the Greenfield area this morning, under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A quantity of drugs was seized.
