A 31-year-old man has been arrested at Hollinwood tram stop after assaulting a member of staff on the tram network.

Greater Manchester Police’s Oldham branch said the man is in a cell and “will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

The force added that neither the police nor Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) would tolerate violence on the public transport network.

The Oldham line has emerged as a hotspot for antisocial behaviour on the tram network.

Greater Manchester Police and TfGM have been contacted for comment.
