Work has begun on an ‘exclusive’ three-home development in Grasscroft, Saddleworth.

The four-bed homes at The Beechwood development will be priced from £695,000 to £750,000 and are available to reserve through the estate agent Ryder & Dutton.

The homes will have ‘stunning views across Saddleworth’ and ‘seamlessly blend in with the local landscape’, according to Aspire Homes, the homebuilders behind the development.

The properties will also have large gardens and homeowners are set to be given the opportunity to choose the colour of the units in their kitchen.

Speaking about the new development, Zoe Rosenberg, head of Land and New Homes at Ryder and Dutton, said: “This will be a truly exclusive development of just three high-end homes tucked away in a beautiful and private spot.

“All three properties will benefit from integrated garages, en-suites to the main bedrooms, gorgeous gardens with views over the Pennines, and high specification features throughout.

“We expect them to prove really popular amongst both local buyers and those looking to move into the area from further afield.”

In 2021, Saddleworth featured in The Sunday Times Places to Live Guide, one of eight chosen in the North West, but was left out of this year’s list.

Last year, the judges said of Saddleworth: “On Saddleworth, the judges said: “This collection of villages combines old-fashioned country living with high-class shops and restaurants - perfect for Manchester commuters and work-from-homers looking for fresher air without sacrificing the good things of life.

“Their highlights include the luxury ice cream from Grandpa Greene’s in Diggle and country pubs, such as the Cross Keys Inn, with a barn that has music events — or the Church Inn, where the Rushcart Festival, the big event of the year, is celebrated in jolly style.”
