Oldham Library is set to host more drag story times – with dates currently unconfirmed.

The news comes after homophobic protests led to the cancellation of a similar event in Rochdale earlier this month.

Reverend David Austin, who serves as the chair of Oldham Pride, asked the library service when they would next host a drag queen story hour, following the cancellation of the Rochdale event.

A representative from the service said they had ‘no doubt’ drag queen Mama G would return to the library and hoped to provide an update in the future.

In 2020, Mama G held a series of virtual story times, which can be found on the Oldham Libraries Facebook page.
