An Italian restaurant in Saddleworth is launching a new ‘winter recession busting’ breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu this week as the cost-of-living crisis hits households and businesses.

La Rustica in Delph launched the new menu on Monday (September 12) in a bid to help the restaurant ‘survive’ the ‘coming recession’.

Referring to the new menu, a Facebook post published by the restaurant reads: “It is designed to help La Rustica to survive”.

The post adds: “We hope this menu will encourage you, our customers to lend us your support.

"We are hopeful this will get us through the coming recession.

“We will still be maintaining our use of quality ingredients, no cutting corners. Made from fresh nothing frozen.”

Under the new menu the restaurant will be offering a full breakfast with tea and toast for £5, coffees for £1.50, egg and bacon sandwiches for £2.50, egg on toast for £1.50 and omelettes for £3.

As part of the lunch menu, hot filled sandwiches will be available for £3.50 and cold cut sandwiches for £3, lasagne with salad and coleslaw will meanwhile be available for £5 and pasta bowls for £4.

Homemade soup and bread will cost £2.50, pizzas will be priced at £5 and pasta salads £3.

Chicken and broccoli bean and potato stew will cost customers £4 and garlic bread £2 or £2.50 with a topping.

A daily roast dinner will also be available through pre-bookings.
