An Oldham salon has transformed the hair of a young girl whose cancer treatment has meant she has lost her hair three times and seen its colour change drastically.

Nine-year-old Pixiebelle, from Ashton, visited Do Or Dye hair and beauty salon on the day of her aunt Gemma Morrison’s wedding last month with her mum Katie Sykes and asked for her hair to be styled in a small braid after it was left short following cancer treatment.

Over the past four years, Pixiebelle has undergone gruelling cancer treatments at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital after an MRI scan revealed she had a rare brain tumour.

She has had four brain operations, around 25 MRI scans, and has lost her hair three times.

In January, a routine MRI scan confirmed the tumour had grown and Pixie is currently taking part in a trial pill and experiencing a range of side effects which includes a loss of pigmentation that has left her hair white.

On meeting Pixiebelle the salon’s owner Terri Leanne Daly,30, from Bardsley, insisted there was no way she was having "just anything” and instead having “the full works” for the wedding.

Terri made eight tiny ponytails all over Pixiebelle’s head attaching hair extension pieces to them with grips and barrelled them into a style. She then used a root cover spray in light brown and sprayed the full style.

Terri then posted photos of the results on the salon’s Facebook page, with permission from Pixiebelle’s family, alongside a message that reads: “I'm sure you will all agree Pixie looked incredible. There were tears of happiness all round.”

In response to the post one commenter wrote: “Brought tears to my eyes. What a beautiful, courageous little girl”.

Another added: “What a talent you have Terri very thoughtful in every way possible and how gorgeous Pixiebelle looks.”

A third said: “Beautiful girl praying for her recovery her hair looks amazing”.

In response to the heartfelt comments, Terri wrote: “Thank you everyone for your kind words.

"Pixie is absolutely incredible and the bravest girl I have ever met. She wasn’t just having just some plaits she was having the best.”
