An Oldham bar is bringing Oktoberfest to the borough this weekend.
The Interclubbers bar, run by Oldham couple Dale Tunnacliffe and Natalie Madden, is holding its version of the famous German beer and food festival this Saturday (October 1). The event is free to enter and will see a variety of German beer, pretzels and German sausages served. A bouncy castle, games, and competitions, will also be held on the day which will run from 6pm to 12am.
The Interclubbers bar, which is a two-minute walk from the Oldham Central tram stop, serves homemade breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with best sellers including burgers, pies, and a selection of cheesecakes that sell out within an hour.
The bar began life as a few cans of drinks handed out to parents who were waiting for their children to finish classes at the Maximum Power Muay Thaiboxing gym ran by Dale, a qualified coach of 10 years.
Now the boxing gym, which opened seven years ago in a converted mill just off Yorkshire Street, shares the floor with a fully-fledged bar that hosts a range of events, including Oktoberfest this Saturday.
