A crew from Hollins Fire Station embarked on a rescue mission involving a stuck kitten in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The fire team was called to an address on Rose Street in Chadderton just after 12am having received reports a kitten was trapped in a wall.
Watch commander Andrew Turner told The Oldham Times that the fire team had to use specialist equipment, including a thermal imaging camera, to save the ginger kitten which had climbed into a cavity wall.
He said: “The kitten had found a gap and climbed into the insulation and got really stuck. We made a small hole in the wall using a saw and hammer and managed to rescue the kitten which to the relief of its owners was unharmed.”
The fire crew was at the scene for approximately half an hour.
Andrew added: “Mother cat was relieved to be reunited with the missing kitten from her litter”.
