A woman who only recently moved to a new home in Saddleworth said she woke yesterday morning to find a 'bullet' in her window.

Kath Wilde said she discovered the item wedged in the glass of her living room window at around 7am on Wednesday.

The woman, who has only lived in her house on Cooper Street in Springhead for four weeks, said the incident has "really upset" and "unnerved" her.

Ms Wilde added: "I thought I was moving to a nice area."

She said Greater Manchester Police "have been amazing" and she says they arrived at her house within 10 minutes of her call.

Images show her front room window is cracked and damaged all around what appears to look like a bullet that remains lodged in the glass.

Ms Wilde urgently fitted a new window to her front room due to the damage caused by the suspected bullet.

It remains unclear where the so-called bullet came from, though police officers do not think it was discharged from a real firearm.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called around 7.25am this morning (28 September) to a report of a suspected bullet-hole in the window of a property on Cooper Street in the Springhead area of Oldham.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish how the damage was caused but it isn't believed to have been caused by a viable firearm."
