A man from Oldham has been charged with kidnap after armed police were called to Royal Oldham Hospital last month.
Daniel Buckley, 31, of Wilson Way has also been charged today (September 28) with threatening a person with a knife in a private place, common assault and two counts of possession of a bladed weapon.
Armed officers, together with a police helicopter and North West Ambulance Service were sent on August 30 to the hospital, which was put into a ‘partial lockdown’ while the man was detained.
Mr Buckley is due to appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on November 1.
He was arrested at the scene of the incident and was taken to custody before being sectioned under the Mental Health Act in hospital.
Mr Buckley will remain in hospital until his court date.
