A 17-strong squad from Oldham Mountain Rescue Team were called to assist with a walker who had injured their leg out their usual loop near Blackstone Edge.

The weather on Blackstone Edge can be notoriously bleak, but despite it being a wet and windy day, the casualty was in good condition upon the team’s arrival at midday on Saturday, with plenty of warm layers and a waterproof jacket.

Together with North West Ambulance Service, the teams' casualty carers assessed and packaged the casualty for a short stretcher carry off the hill.

Greater Manchester Police also attended. OMRT personnel were involved for one hour and 30 mins.
