An organisation has relaunched following the pandemic and is offering a range of courses and workshops for Oldhamers to get involved in.

Hack Oldham started up again in September more than two years after shutting down.

Based at 38-44 Yorkshire Street in Oldham town centre, Hack is inviting Oldhamers to come and see for themselves the wide range of activities they can take part in, from acting courses to wood workshops.

Hack is a non-profit organisation run by its members for its members in the heart of the Oldham community.

Eric Steele, director of Hack, described it as "a social enterprise" that is also a "catch-all event space for community groups".

Some of the courses Hack offers include film and television acting classes, arts and craft and role-playing games.

Hack has a wide range of tools on offer, including 3D printers, mug stamping, a pottery wheel and a wood working & electronics workshop.

Its base also has a co-working space and an event space which includes a PA system and projector, both of which can be hired.

There is also locker space hire for people of wish to leave equipment or materials there.

People can purchase a membership for access to all that Hack offers or can pay for each class individually.

Each session costs £3 to attend, while a monthly membership of £10 per month gives people access to all the courses and equipment available, as well as a members lounge and a reference library.

Mr Steele said people can "get out of it what they want".

He added that "not many people" know about Hack and what it has to offer but invited all Oldhamers to come and get involved, adding that everyone at any level is welcome.

Hack is also looking for volunteers to help deliver the workshops and sessions as there is a mixture of external and internal staff who lead the classes.

Mr Steele added that Hack is currently holding a food bank donation drive for Oldham Foodbank in association with The Trussell Trust.

Tinned food items can be dropped off at the venue and are arranged to be delivered to the food bank.
