Following Oldham Coliseum's closure was confirmed earlier this week here is a look at photos from the theatre and the famous figures to grace its stage throughout the decades.

Some of England's most legendary actors appear in the pictures, which show productions that took place across decades.

The Oldham Times has selected some of the best, which show the evolution of productions at Oldham's beloved theatre.

Dame Thora Hird, who won three BAFTAs and whose carried spanned more than 70 years, appeared at the Oldham Coliseum in Saturday Night at the Crown.
