Fire crews have tackled a blaze that broke out at a 'portacabin' in Oldham.

At around 5pm yesterday (Sunday) firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a portacabin on Bottom O’ Th’ Moor in Oldham.

Two fire engines from Chadderton and Oldham stations attended, and firefighters remained at the scene for just under an hour.

Plumes of smoke could be seen coming from the portacabin as fire crews battled the blaze.

A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “At approximately 5pm on Sunday, May 7 firefighters were called to reports of a fire on Bottom O’ Th’ Moor, in Oldham, involving a portacabin.

“Two fire engines from Chadderton and Oldham stations quickly arrived at the scene.

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel, a thermal imaging camera and other specialist equipment to extinguish the fire.

“Fire crews were in attendance for approximately 50 minutes.”
