A woman who suffered a potential fractured ankle was evacuated from Dovestones Reservoir following the actions of Oldham Mountain Rescue Team (OMRT).

On Sunday (May 21), OMRT received a request for assistance from North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) after reports a woman had fallen and sustained the serious injury while out walking near the reservoir.

OMRT helped NWAS to locate the woman, who was on a hillside above the reservoir, and accessed an area close to the location in an off-road buggy, making it easier to get personnel and equipment to the site.

The woman was assessed and treated by OMRT's Casualty Carer before being carried on the stretcher to the NWAS ambulance.
