Oldham’s very own Wild West-themed restaurant is hosting a festival “jampacked” with local talent and tribute bands.

The Old School BBQ Bus in Hollinwood has announced it is holding a festival named Venture Fest this September that will “introduce lots of local talent” with tickets on sale now.

The one-day event on September 23 will be “jampacked with some of the best upcoming indie talent and some of the best sounding tribute bands”, according to the restaurant.

Bands taking to the stage on the day include The Coltens, The Haciendas, The Public Eye, Kestrel Palace, The Notion, and the Cavs.

The audience will also be treated to sets by tribute bands including a Green Day tribute and a Foo Fighter tribute.

General admission tickets are £14.25 and VIP tickets that include all inclusive drinks and food are £150.

The Old School BBQ Bus shot to fame after appearing on Come Dine With Me: The Professionals last year and has been praised for its tender barbecued food, 'moonshine' cocktails, and impressive Texas-themed venue.

In October last year, the Bus won four Restaurant Guru awards, earning it the title 'best romantic restaurant in Oldham', ‘best burgers in Oldham’, ‘best restaurant in Oldham’ and ‘recommended by Restaurant Guru’.

In April this year, it added the ‘top 10 best restaurant in Oldham' award and a 'top 10 best BBQ restaurant in Oldham' award to its name.

The business also won 'best romantic restaurant' and 'best burgers' for the second time.

Since its inception in 2018, when owner Mark Fairley operated from his specially imported yellow Arizona school bus, the restaurant has grown exponentially and has live entertainment including comedy nights.
