Police have released images of 25 people they want to speak to after violence broke out in Piccadilly Gardens following Manchester City's Champions League win last month.

After the final on Saturday, June 10 a police car was smashed and seriously damaged, a police laptop stolen, a bus stop vandalised, and bottles thrown at police.

Officers have now released 25 images of people they believe may be able to help with their ongoing enquiries.

Inspector Phil Marsh, from GMP’s City of Manchester district, said: “Last month marked a historic night in our city’s sporting history and I do not want to allow the disorder to detract from this momentous occasion.

“However, this sort of behaviour is totally unacceptable. The majority of people behaved respectfully and peacefully, but a number of people who attended the celebrations in Piccadilly Gardens took part in disorder which resulted in a heavily damaged police car and the damage of other police property.

“We will never tolerate this sort of behaviour and we have been working hard to identify those responsible, with our officers combing through hours of bodycam and CCTV footage.

“If you have information that could help with our investigation, please do get in touch with our officers. We are determined to keep the streets of Greater Manchester a safe and welcoming place for all.”
