Aldi is set to create more than 800 jobs in new stores across the UK between now and Christmas.

The UK’s fourth-largest supermarket, which has over 990 stores, currently employs around 40,000 people.

Aldi is opening new stores in towns and cities such as Oldham, Flitwick and Coventry as well as many others up and down the country.

Starting pay for Store Assistants at Aldi is £11.40 per hour nationally, and £12.85 per hour inside the M25, with the supermarket also paying for breaks.

Roles available will include managerial positions, caretakers and cleaners, as well as Store Apprentices.

Across Oldham, 30 jobs are currently on offer on Aldi’s recruitment website, in Oldham, Lees, Shaw, and Failsworth.

Permanent and fixed term contracts are available with jobs including managerial roles, store assistants, store cleaners and even apprenticeships.

Salaries on offer reach up to £62,850 per year for an assistant store maanger role.

Hourly rates reach up to £13.50 per hour for deputy managers, with an additional premium of £4 per hour while running the store.

Last year, plans were approved for a new Aldi store in Chadderton.
