A new Greggs drive-thru is set to open in Greater Manchester in a matter of weeks.
This comes after the nationwide bakery chain applied to Bolton Council for a licence to open their new branch at Logistics North on Salford Road late into the night.
If granted, the licence will allow the new branch to open for seven days a week.
A Greggs spokesperson said: “Greggs is due to open a new drive-thru on Salford Road in Bolton later this month.
“We will be able to share further details with you closer to the opening.”
The most recent licencing application put before Bolton Council earlier this week asks the authority for permission to provide late night refreshments from Monday to Sunday.
This will allow the Greggs branch to stay open long into the early hours of the morning from 11pm to 5am, though actual opening times may be shorter withing this.
This comes after a planning process that has been ongoing for some time already for a new Greggs on the Logistics North site.
Plans for the new outlet were first submitted in April 2022 and will see it opened close to the M61 junctions 4 on Bridgewater Avenue.
The Greggs will be found close to the Costa Coffee outlet, opened in 2017, which operates close to the roundabout and joins a growing selection of fast-food outlets and other retailers on the site.
The new Greggs branch will be able to draw upon a wide potential audience with around 5,500 people employed on the Logistics North site, run by the Haworth Group.
Around three million square feet of manufacturing and logistics space are already occupying the site, including major warehouses for international companies like Aldi, Lidl and Whistll.
The application to serve late night refreshments will now be considered by Bolton Council’s licencing team.
Interested parties able to send written representations supporting or opposing the bid to town hall to be considered by the department before the deadline of Tuesday August 29.
Once the deadline has passed, the council will them decide whether or not to approve the bid at a later date.
