An art exhibition featuring the works of artist Jez Thomas is opening at a church in Oldham this weekend.

The Human One art exhibition is travelling the UK and is at St Anne's Church in Royton from this Saturday.

The exhibition features 30 originals and prints by Jez, who is the artist in residence at St Mary's Priory in Abergavenny in South Wales.

His work explores the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

Last weekend Jez set up the exhibition at the St Anne’s Church.

Reverend Elizabeth Devall, the vicar of St Anne's Royton and St Mark's Heyside, first came across Jez’s work on social media during lockdown and leapt at the opportunity to show his work at St Anne's Church.

St Anne's is already home to Dachau Christ, by Liverpool sculptor Arthur Dooley, and some unique clay Stations of the Cross.

The Human One exhibition is accessible to the public for three open weekends from Saturday, September 9 to Sunday, September 24.

The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm on September 9, 16, and 23 and from 1pm to 5pm on September 1, 17, and 24.

Refreshments and children's activities will also be available at the exhibition.

The church is welcoming schools, colleges, community groups, or individuals at other times throughout September, either during the day or evening, by prior arrangement.

For more information or to book a visit outside of the open weekends call reverend Elizabeth Devall on 07725 739506 or email revlizdevall@gmail.com.
