The 81-year-old's family are becoming increasingly desperate to find their beloved grandfather who means "the absolute world to all of us".

Ronald, also known fondly as Ronnie, left home without his mobility scooter or his mobile phone.

CCTV footage of the moment he left shows he was wearing a blue and grey coat with grey trousers and was walking with his "pride possession" wooden walking stick that has his army regiment badge on.

His granddaughter then said he was seen at Oldham bus station around 2.20pm where he boarded the 184 bus towards Huddersfield.

In an update today, Tuesday, September 19, his family confirmed Ronnie stayed on the bus all the way to Huddersfield and that they are now directing their search efforts there.

Footage shows he got off the bus at 3.45pm at Huddersfield bus station.

Ronnie's granddaughter said he does like to walk around places but has "never been missing overnight".

Greater Manchester Police, who have joined the search to find Ronnie, described him as a white male with grey hair around the back and sides while bald on top, of small build with a few gaps and his teeth and around 5 feet tall.

His granddaughter said he is "poorly and just a vulnerable old man".

In an appeal on social media, she said: "Please keep an eye out for him, we are all really worried and just want him home.

"Get eyes out on the streets of Huddersfield.

"It's dark and wet outside, he must be so tired.

"He doesn't have his chair or a hood on his little coat.

"My heart is hurting."

Greater Mancher Police are now hoping to trace Ronald's whereabouts and have urged others to keep a lookout.
