A teenager from Oldham who dreams of appearing on Britain's Got Talent is hoping to make it through to the televised stage of the ITV show with her two dogs.

Alisha D'Adamo and her performing pooch, Mika, auditioned for the popular television talent show in Manchester last year but sadly didn't make it to the televised round.

But, undeterred, the pair are making a comeback and this year with the help of Pascha, another talented cockapoo-cross under Alisha's wings.

The former Oldham College student from Springhead is a dog trainer by day and spends most of her time practicing routines with her pets.

Both Pascha and Mika share a talent in 'dog dancing', which is heelwork set to music, and their agility has even seen them both win Crufts competitions in the Young Kennel Club's 'crossbreed of the year' category in 2019 and 2020.

Pascha has also appeared on the BBC's Pooch Perfect dog grooming competition.

The move to television was sparked when Mika received a shock diagnosis of Addinson's disease in January last year.

Addison's disease occurs when a dog's adrenal glands fail to produce enough levels of corticosteroid hormones.

Speaking to The Oldham Times last year, Alisha said the then six-year-old pup "nearly died" and now has to take steroids every day and several blood tests over the course of the year.

Mika's poor health - and her own - prompted the teen to take the leap and start auditioning for shows.

Alisha said: "I realised that life's too short and that I had to go for it."

Now, the trio have breezed through the audition process and are currently waiting to hear if they've made it onto the big screen.

She added: "We did do some filming for the show and we've got through the first and second stages.

"We've got to wait two weeks now to see if we've made it onto the show.

"We've achieved this through hard work.

"I am still rehearsing every so often in case we get picked to go on the show."
