Police have given an update on the investigation into a man accused of making threats to kill.

An appeal has been launched to track down a man who is wanted for a number of offences, including making threats to kill.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) originally shared an appeal on their Oldham social media pages on Monday, November 13.

The force said they were looking to find a man named Benjamin Smedley.

According to police, the 25-year-old is wanted for making threats to kill, along with other unnamed offences.

In a post on Facebook today (November 22), GMP's Oldham Central team gave an update on the investigation.

The force said: “We have new information regarding Benjamin potentially staying in Blackpool and Stockport.

“If you have any information, please call police on 0161 856 8982 or Crimestoppers UK on 0800 555 111.”

GMP said Smedley has links to Oldham as well as Rochdale, and the force is appealing to members of the public to help them track him down.

Anyone with any information regarding Smedley's whereabouts is urged to get in touch with police by calling 0161 856 8982.

Alternatively, if people wish to pass information on anonymously, they can do so by getting in touch with the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
