The boss of a popular Oldham venue has managed to fool even his own family with a viral video which appears to show him dancing in his underwear and a cowboy hat to celebrate the launch of the restaurant’s new brunch menu.

Mark Fairley, who runs Hollinwood’s Old School BBQ Bus, is launching the new £6.95 brunch menu as a response to a new Starbucks and KFC opening nearby.

However, a video which appeared to show him dancing in his underwear and a cowboy hat to the tune of Big & Rich’s "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" to celebrate the menu was actually one of American comedian Bert Kreische – with even Mark’s 10-year-old son Rory fooled.

Mark said: “Even family and friends don’t realise it’s not me. He’s called Bert Kreische, and he’s a proper doppelganger to me.

“Even my own son didn’t realise it was me.

“I even had a comedian phone saying 'it’s been hilarious, can we redo it?’ I think I should actually re-enact it now and send it over to Bert.”

The Facebook prank was to promote the launch of the award-winning restaurant’s new brunch menu, which has been served since Friday at noon.

Last year, the restaurant appeared on Come Dine With Me: The Professionals.

Mark said: “We were obviously a bit worried that it might not help the business, having two chains open up near enough at the same time, so we were a little bit worried and we’ve had to try to pull the stops out to try to get people through the door so they don’t go over to the chain.”

The menu includes five items, each of which will be priced at £6.95.

The menu includes:

  • Fried chicken and waffles, with maple syrup.
  • Avocado on toast, using locally made cornbread and topped with poached eggs.
  • A Texas-style brisket benedict with homemade hollandaise and tomato puree.
  • Dirty tackles: sliced up bacon with jalapeno, sausage, tater tots, scrambled eggs and spring onion.
  • A bacon and fried egg burger.

The Old School BBQ Bus has won numerous awards since its inception in 2018.

Those looking to visit can find the eatery on Alford Street, in Hollinwood.
