A teenager was 'pushed to the ground' by a group who reportedly threatened him with a knife, took coat and Apple AirPods and chased after his friend.

At approximately 10pm on Wednesday, December 27, a 17-year-old boy was reportedly subject to a robbery by a group near Failsworth Metrolink.

It is understood the victim and his friend were targeted by three other teenagers, aged between 16 and 17 years old.

Police say the victim was "forcibly pushed to the ground in a threatening manner" by two of the suspects, and was threatened with a knife and robbed of his personal belongings.

This included his coat and Apple AirPods.

Meanwhile, the third suspect allegedly "chased after" the victim's friend.

In a public appeal to trace their whereabouts, Greater Manchester Police has released images of three young men officers want to speak to.

The group was seen before the incident getting off the tram at Failsworth tram stop on Hardman Lane before the robbery occurred.

Anyone with information is being encouraged to contact the force by calling 101 quoting log number 1178 of 27/12/2023.
