Oldham drivers have been warned that a key road in the borough will be closed for three nights this week as works continue.

The council has said that Oldham Way A627 will be closed between 8pm and 5am on Wednesday (February 28), Thursday (February 29) and Friday (March 1).

Oldham Way will be closed between the Manchester Road roundabout and the road's junction with Prince Street.

Diverted routes will be signposted for drivers, which will take drivers through the town centre.

Works have taken place on Oldham Way for around a year, including maintenance work on bridges at Waterloo Street and Wellington Street.

The works initially began in February last year and Oldham Council said at the time the works were expected to finish in the late autumn of last year.
