A man was taken to hospital with a head injury and more than one police cordon was in place on a main road in Oldham.

On Sunday night (March 17), both Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) were called to an incident at the Domino's restaurant and takeaway on Oldham Road in Failsworth, where a man with a head injury was found.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 10pm yesterday (Sunday 17 March), police were called to an incident outside a premises on Oldham Road in Failsworth.

They said: "A male was taken to the MRI for treatment of a head injury.

"A scene remains in place on Oldham Road while enquiries are ongoing."

Police also confirmed there had been "suspicious activity" and the lock of the Domino's had sustained damage.

NWAS confirmed they attended to a patient on Oldham Road last night after receiving a call at 10.57pm and he was taken to hospital.

Following the initial cordon at the Domino's other cordons were put in place on Oldham Road, with GMP saying they were all connected to the same incident.

Police said enquiries were still ongoing.
