Many supermarkets and independent businesses closed their doors for the Easter holidays over the weekend, but most of the giants are open in Oldham today.

All five of Oldham's Aldi branches are running reduced hours today closing two hours early at 8pm - these are its two Chadderton branches, as well as the ones in Failsworth, Lees and Shaw.

Five of the six Asda stores in the borough will close at 10pm, while Asda Living, which trades out of the Elk Mill Shopping Park, will open at 10am until 6pm.

Supermarket giant Tesco will also run reduced hours today, its three superstores in Chadderton, Failsworth and its large Huddersfield Road branch - will all close at 6pm, while the two Express stores in Shaw and Hathershaw will shut at 11pm.

Lidl is running the same hours as its rival Aldi, its two Oldham branches in Royton and Chadderton are closing at 8pm - as is the Newton Heath store.

While Sainsbury's, on Union Street in the town centre, will close at 8pm, as will the two Morrison's stores in the borough - Failsworth and Hollinwood branches.

Meanwhile, Iceland's three Oldham stores will all close at different times. Its town centre branch will close at 8pm, it's Glodwick shop will shut at 9pm and the other in Shaw at 7pm.
