A pedestrian has been 'seriously injured' after being hit by a vehicle on the motorway.

Greater Manchester Police officers are appealing for information after a vehicle collided with a pedestrian on the M60.

It comes after The Oldham Times reported that an air ambulance landed on a stretch of the M60 between junction 23, Ashton, and junction 24, Denton, yesterday.

A spokesperson for the force said: "A vehicle left the carriageway and spun across the motorway towards the hard shoulder.

"The vehicle collided with a pedestrian who was assisting another vehicle. As a result, the pedestrian suffered serious injuries.

"Police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident to come forward and help their enquiries."

Residents with any information have been urged to call GMP's serious collision unit on 0161 856 4741, quoting incident number 1800 of 01/04/2024.
