A popular takeaway serving the 'best drinks in Ashton and Oldham' is up for sale.

Chico’s Chai, on Broadoak Road in Ashton, has been placed on the market by agents at Hilton Smythe Business Sales on a leasehold basis for £15,000.

The listing, with Zoopla, read: “Hilton Smythe are delighted to welcome to the market Chico's Chai, a highly rated takeaway opportunity in Ashton-under-Lyne.

“Chico's Chai was first established by our clients in 2022, as seen by the fantastic online reviews, the business is extremely popular within the local community.

“This business has now come to the open market due to our clients desire to concentrate on other business interests.”

It continued: “The business was founded by the current owners when they identified a need in the local area for a Chai takeaway.

“The business has quickly become established with many regular customers and a burgeoning reputation.

“Customers can collect their order or have it delivered via Just Eat, UberEats and Deliveroo, and the menu includes: smash burgers, burgers, Chico meals, fully-loaded donuts, ice cream, desserts, milkshakes, hot drinks and wraps.”

While it has only been trading for two years and has been temporarily closed while the owners negotiate its sale, it has left a lasting impression on those who have visited – including Liam Marley Eats, a food critic with his own YouTube channel.

Leaving a recent review on Google, he said: “Chico’s does the best karak Chai in Oldham, from deep fried Oreos, smash burgers, baked donuts, homemade ice cream - Chicos has it all to offer.

“Lads are always super friendly and welcoming, and the prices are very affordable.

“If you are crazy enough to try the ice cream on a burger, it's actually a combination that really works.”

The food connoisseur added: “Highly recommend a visit to Chico’s - even if only for a karak Chai.”

While he may have incorrectly place Chico’s Chai in Oldham rather than Ashton, Umair Mazhar correctly located the business.

Also reviewing the establishment on Google, he said: “Chico’s chai is the best in Ashton, brother’s really respectful, would defo recommend come down and trying.

“Can’t beat there tea, and they have a lot more to offer.”

The business ran by the owner and managed with the help of up to five part-time members of staff, and currently operates 4pm till 11pm during the week, and opens an hour later on the weekend.
