All of these cases involving people from Oldham have been before the magistrates in the last fortnight.

An Oldham woman stole more than £1,000 worth of cosmetics and perfumes from shops at Manchester Airport.

Tracey Dockhery, of Queens Road, Oldham, was at the airport on September 21, 2022, when she carried out the thefts.

The 52-year-old's offences including stealing £992.34 worth of goods from the Duty Free shop, as well as £200 worth of goods from Boots and £70 worth of items from WHSmith.

After being charged and released on bail, Dockhery failed to attend Manchester Magistrates' Court on November 30 last year when she was required to do so.

At the same court on April 17, she was sentenced for three counts of theft and one count of failing to surrender to court bail.

Dockhery was made to pay fines totalling £135, a victim surcharge of £114 and further costs of £85.

She was also handed a community order, requiring her to attend 10 days of rehabilitation activity requirement.

A man has been sentenced for assaulting a woman and drink driving.

Dale Rushworth, of Alan Avenue, Failsworth, committed both offences on March 3 this year.

The 29-year-old assaulted a woman, causing actual bodily harm, and was caught driving with 68 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35 micrograms, meaning Rushworth was almost double the drink driving limit.

At Manchester Magistrates' Court on April 19, he was sentenced for the two offences, both of which he pleaded guilty to.

Rushworth was handed a community order requiring him to undergo treatment for alcohol dependency for a period of 120 days and carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.

He was also banned from driving for six months and made to pay a fine of £500, a victim surcharge of £200 and further costs of £85, bringing his total costs to £785.

A woman has been banned from the roads after failing to provide police with a specimen when he was suspected of drink driving in Wales.

Leah Taylor, of Bunyan Close, Moorside, was at a police station in St Asaph, North Wales, April 2 and was asked to provide a breath sample to officers.

She failed to do so and was charged with failing to provide a specimen, which she pleaded guilty to at Llandudno Magistrates' Court on April 17.

The 41-year-old was handed a community order requiring her to abstain from consuming any alcohol for 120 days and attend 20 days of rehabilitation activity requirement.

She was also disqualified from driving for six months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £114 and further costs of £85.
