A popular fast-food chain with more than 2,000 stores in the UK has reopened its branch in Oldham.

Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre has welcomed back Subway this week, much to the relief of residents.

Keeping in line with the multi-million pound shopping centre's facelift, the foot-long sandwich specialists have taken down the sites old signage and replaced it with the franchise's new chic look.

A spokesperson for Spindles said: "Great to welcome Subway back to the centre.

The fast-food giant has added new sandwiches to its already varied menu with a teriyaki sub, which is stuffed with chicken breast, American-style cheese, lettuce, cucumbers, peppers, crispy onions and finished with sweet onion and teriyaki sauces.

The store, which is located on the ground floor of the shopping centre in the walkway, will also sell the new 'Pesto Paradiso Sub' – loaded with chicken breast, mozzarella, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, peppers and basil pesto.

Taking to social media, Danielle Hadfield said: "Nice to see this team back to where they belong, such lovely people and customer service is on point every time always smiling."
